Good morning!  We've got a gorgeous project and fabulous tutorial to share today, so grab a cup of coffee - or better yet - hot chocolate, and spend a few minutes with us...

Tanya created these fantastic, frosty mixed media winter tags with our December Wilma's Winter Wishes kit and Creativity Add On - She used the BoBunny Whiteout Papers as the base, the Woodland Winter Stickers, Sleigh Ride Layered Chipboard, Rusty Tin-tique Stars, and Petaloo flowers that are in the main kit, and the Metallics Gelatos set that's included in the Creativity Add On.

And here's her step-by-step process video:

And here are a few close-ups of her 'snow-fun' tags:

Thanks for stopping by today, stay warm, and I hope you find the time to create something beautiful today...

'Vintage' Mixed Media Inspiration

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

We have a beautiful layout to share today:

Lisa was working with our December Silver Bells kit, Elements Add On, and Floral Add On when she created this beauty.  Here's what she has to say about about her layout:

Continuing on with my obsession with brown lately, I chose this beautiful Authentique paper called 'Tidings One' and then used the turquoise Petaloo flowers, and the white Prima resin from this month's add-ons. There are so many pretty Christmas papers to work with this month. I also added a few elements from past kits, the paper doily and the Prima metal flourish.

Here are a few close ups....
As I was creating this layout I realized that this is the female companion to my layout
John Edward that I also created with a Scraps of Elegance kit a while back.
Same daguerrotype photograph, and beautiful vintage styling that I adore....
the name Faith Margaret also just came to me, so here she is :)
I love the idea of creating characters in art, imagining who these strangers were...
I used some 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces here, 'Corner Holly Vines', and 'Elements',
that I embossed in copper and gold.

Thank you for stopping by to see us today, I hope you enjoyed Lisa's layout, and I hope you have a beautiful day...

DIY Sparkling Chipboard Christmas Ornament Tutorial

Good morning, I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas.

We're extending Christmas a little bit, with a wonderful video tutorial by Tracey.

Tracey found these beautiful Blue Fern Studios laser cut chipboard Word Ornaments in our store, and picked them up to go with our December Silver Bells kit and add ons.

Tracey says it's become a tradition in her family to create handmade ornaments for her children every year, and while creating this year's, she did a technique video, sharing how she made these beauties.  Here's her video:

Here's a photo of the gorgeous holiday tags she made with the kit and the chipboard ornaments:

I'm very sure these were a big hit yesterday, aren't they stunning?!

I hope you had some time to create some handmade Christmas goodness this year, but if not, there's still time - with all those wonderful memories you captured on film yesterday...

Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend...

Holiday layouts With Kathy & Tracey

Good morning!

Today I am going to share a couple of beautiful and joyous
layouts - perfect for the Christmas season!

This first one is from Kathy using the Scraps Of Darkness

She started by ripping one side of the BoBunny Sleigh Ride paper included in the Coordinating Paper Add On, inked the edges to make it look worn, then adhered it to the BoBunny Sleigh Ride Logs paper from the main kit. She then distressed the edges and glued it down to the My Colors Snowbound cardstock which is included in the Cardstock Add-On.

She layered her photo with 4 separate mats.  The Sleigh Ride Magic paper in the Coordinating Paper Add On has the little ATCs size pictures...she used the one with a window frame to make the photo look like it was taken from the inside looking out.
She layered 2 large snowflakes and burlap stars and then added the BoBunny chipboard snowflakes on top (from the main kit).  She used embossing powder from a previous kit on the chipboard.

She used Cosmo Cricket's Wood Charms “Happy Holidays” from our store on the photo and chipboard.  It was also included in an older kit.

She created a sweet collage of gold leaves and a pinecone with little red berries and some berry bunches.  The Prima Victorian Christmas leaves and berries are included in December’s Scraps of Elegance Elements Add OnShe placed a little twine bow behind the pinecone to add texture.

She fussy cut the little girl from an Authentique Glistening collection paper from our store, and added cheesecloth at her feet to mimic snow.  The gold bits in the cheesecloth were cut off from the back of one of the pinecones (to make them lay flat).

She adhered three of the Rusty Tin-tique stars from the main kit onto the little tree.

She created another pinecone cluster at the top of the left hand side.  Before gluing them down, she used the Crafter's Workshop Pinecones stencil included in the Main Kit which also has this sweet evergreen bough on the stencil.  The brown branches underneath were from last year’s kit.

Next, we have this jubilant celebration of Christmas layout from Tracey Gregory, who also used our 'Wilma's Winter Wishes' kit.

Tracey's beautiful daughter played Mary in a living nativity.
Here are some of her gorgeous details

Thank you so much for stopping by!
This will be my last post until after Christmas

Cards, Cards, and more Christmas Cards!

Good morning everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season!

Today I am sharing some handmade Christmas cards that are full of holiday cheer!

The first pretty and festive card is from Lynne, using our
Scraps Of Elegance December kit: Silver Bells.

Lynne did a lot of fussy cutting of the beautiful Graphic 45 Christmas Carol paper from the kit, using foam dots for added dimension and twine for texture!  She also dabbed a bit of glossy accents on the berries to add a bit of shine!

Next is my turn with 4 cards I created for friends, using the
Scraps of Darkness December kit, Wilma's Winter Wishes.
I used the Cafe Ole cardstock from the cardstock add on

to create the layers along with the BoBunny Whiteout papers from the main kit and patterned paper add on!

The beautiful glittered paper adds a lot of sparkle - perfect for my card!
I used the Tim Holtz tattered poinsettia die to create my flower that I highlighted with Prima midnight blue glass glitter and used a BoBunny Sleigh Ride Brad for the center, both are from the Elements Add On

My second card I think is my favorite....

I LOVE the glittery paper....

Using a pattern I had, I created the shape of the card.

I die cut three poinsettia's and used the tree stamp from the October SOD kit.  To create the snow I used I mixed gesso, modeling paste, and the mica powder from the Scraps Of Elegance December color add on.

I misted a doily with Lindy's mist from a previous kit.
I also used the BoBunny Sleigh Ride brads from the Elements Add On for centers on my poinsettias.

I outlined the card with perfect pearls - also from a previous kit,

and punched a few snowflakes.
This was a fun and sparkly card to make! I created the card using a piece of the Ocean side cardstock from the cardstock add on for the base. I then added a few layers of the kit paper and I die cut a few wintery flourishes using the Wild Rose Studios 'Icy Wind' die from the Elements Add On

I added some other elements including ZVA gems from the Elements Add On and a piece of BoBunny Sleigh Ride Layered Chipboard from the main kit.  I also added some of the awesome Prima midnight blue glass glitter from the elements add on.

I also created a masculine Christmas card for a friend of ours...

I cut out one of the images from the BoBunny paper then added the die cuts for a simple but sweet card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Monday - Holiday Style!

Good morning!
We have a special mixed media Monday today! - Both projects today are in their snowy, wintery, Christmas goodness!

First up we have this stunning frosty layoutfrom Wilma using the Scraps Of Darkness December kit -Wilma's Winter Wishes.

To alter the chipboard, she painted it with gesso.  While the gesso was still wet she dragged it through two color ink.
On the dangle she also added white flock with glitter.

Wilma always add clear gesso to her pages. This allows her to paint whatever she likes afterwards, like this star where she added one of the BoBunny brads from the Elements Add On.

That goat is too adorable!

Next, we have a gorgeous vintage Christmas layout from Anna - using the Scraps Of Elegance December kit, Silver Bells.

From the main kit, she used the Authentique paper "Tidings Three", Prima paper "Une Carte De Noel" from Vintage Christmas Collection, Prima flower "Joyoux Noel" Ranger Perfect Medium Clear Bullet Tip Pen, and Ranger Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder: Forever Red.
From the Elements Add On, she used Graphic 45 chipboard from A Christmas Story Collection and Blue Fern Studios Chipboard "Amazing".

Thank you for stopping by for Mixed Media Monday!
