June Layout of the Month

All the layouts created with June's Scraps of Darkness Kit - Welcome to the Jungle were amazing! The task of looking through them all and choosing just one is going to be a difficult one, each month, with so many talented ladies posting their fabulous creations! So without further ado.....

June's Layout of the Month is...
It's A Jungle Out There by viennangel!

This page had such color and sweetness. The flowers add a perfect pop of color against the green background and the ribbon trim adds a soft touch to the layout. The stitched vines are gorgeous accents and the chipboard pieces were painted amazingly!

Congratulations!!!

July Skeletons in the Closet Challenge Winner!!!!

Christine
aka
CharliesAngel

This is what Christine had to say about her wonderful creation for this challenge.
" This was my take on Lisa's Skeleton's In The Closet Challenge over at Scraps of Darkness (LOVE her SITC Challenge!) Anyway, the challenge was to scrap the emotion and/or feeling you get when you hear the song "iris" by the goo goo dolls WITHOUT using a picture. The first line always bring me back in time when Charles was living 1000 miles away and we only got to see each other every 3 months or so. This layout depicts emotions and challenges that we went though during that time, and even afterwards. Lots of symbolism here. All the music imagery is because that is how we met in the first place. I found his band on myspace.com, and after a long while of being just friends and me being a fan of his music, for whatever reason, he gave me his phone number. I called him, and not long after that I was head over heels. I fell in love before I ever met him in person. I would meet him some 5 months or so after we first began communicating, and his music was often the only way I could really feel close to him. The ipod on my layout shows his band's name, and the name of a song he wrote for me. The state of texas with the red heart right over the dallas area..since that's where my heart was. The broken heart showing how I felt most of the time, even though his love made me feel like my heart was flying most of the time, too. The girl is me, crying black tears and stiched x's across the mouth to represent that which was unspoken. God brought Charles to me. I've learned so much from him and the experience, I have barely scratched the surface of what this layout represents. "

July Reveal Day

Yep, it's that time again, Reveal Day at Scraps of Darkness!

This month we've got beautiful vibrant colors from Christine Adolph's Marrakesh Collection for Creative Imaginations, along with some Basic Grey Oxford papers, and some wonderful embellishments to compliment these lines.  This is our Marrakesh Express kit:

Charlotte Jenkins, aka Suepup, did a beautiful sketch to compliment this month's kit.  If you got this month's kit, be sure to use the sketch and enter it in the sketch challenge on our message board, and check out the other challenges we have this month!  Here's that awesome sketch I was talking about:

This month, we also did a Limited Edition special kit, Over The Rainbow, featuring paper and embellishments from Graphic 45's brand new Magic of OZ line.  I am really looking forward to seeing all the layouts done with this kit.  I love the Wizard of Oz, and was so thrilled when G45 came out with this line, that I couldn't resist doing a special kit for it:

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a fabulous weekend full of scrapping!
