Evil?

I'm sorry to say I've been a slacker!  I promised to post some of the sketch layouts from our subscribers, and only posted one so far!

This beautiful layout was created by forevervampress.  She used our August kit and the August sketch by Craftysprinkles to do the layout.  I love the look of the whole layout, but the way she did the journaling really stands out, as well as the way she used 6 of the flowers to create the look of the one flower on the sketch.

Beautiful layout, Celina!

That is all I have for today.  There will probably be no post tomorrow, as my grandson will be born tomorrow!  My oldest daughter will be having her first baby, which is my first grandchild, and we are all so excited.

Have a wonderful day, and I should be posting another layout on Thursday.

A sketch layout by Frances

It's Saturday morning, the end of the week, and I promised to start posting some of the layouts our subscribers have done based on this month's sketch by Craftysprinkles.

Today's layout was done by Frances. She did a wonderful job with this layout, and I think an awful lot of us can remember those 80's!

Frances did some wonderful distressing on this layout, and I think the red inking is the perfect touch!

Stay tuned for more great layouts by our subscribers, and have a great scrappy weekend!

The August Kit and Sketch

Our August kit, Midnight Garden, was released on August 15th.  I was thinking I should post it here now, as we are drawing closer to the reveal of the September kit...

This kit includes beautiful patterned papers from My Mind's Eye, as well as a die-cut sheet from Ruby Rock-It.  The embelishments include flowers from Prima, Petaloo, and Ruby Rock-It.  Also included were a set of Prima stamps and bling, alphabet rub-ons, metal medalions, a feather boa, 3 colors of pebbles, transparencies, Molasses Smooch, Bazzill Tulle, and red floral cattails.

The kit also includes a beautiful sketch done by Craftysprinkles.  Tomorrow I will post some of the awesome layouts our design team did with this sketch, and later in the week, I'll be posting some of the layouts our subscribers have done based on the sketch.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Meet our Design Team

I have finally managed to get the blog up and running, and I thought what better to start with than an introduction to 3 of the most creative and talented ladies out there, the Scraps of Darkness Design Team.

Mandy Harrell (aka Craftysprinkles) is on the Design Team, as well as being our sketch artist.  She designs the awesome sketches included with our kits each month.
Hello to All!!  My name is Mandy aka Craftysprinkles, and I am truly excited to be a DT for Scraps of Darkness.  I've been scrapbooking for over 16 years now and see no end in sight.  I am a SAHM of five awesome kids and am married to a wonderfully supportive husband.
I love photography, as well as scrapbooking, and the "mammarazzi" in me is always following my kids around taking shot after shot.  My scrappy style is a mix of shabby chic, mixed media, and grunge, so be prepared to see many different sides of me.

Meg Mele is one of our talented designers.

HI! My name is Meg, aka Just4myboys. I am a SAHM to 2 wonderful little boys whose father is my best friend and Love of my Life. All of which provides me a lot of material to use for my obsession, umm I mean, Hobby, Scrapbooking! I absolutely LOVE to sit for hours playing with all my papercrafting goodies…. and nothing feels better than finishing a LO or other paper crafting project. I don’t think I have any specific style, I like a little bit of everything, but especially anything that is a bit ‘different’.

Amanda Kurtz (aka Manda K) is one of our talented designers
Hi! I am Amanda...or Manda if you wish. I am super excited to be scrapping for Scraps of Darkness! My first design team gig! I love Vampires...especially sparkly ones. Any movie with an excessive amount of blood is tops in my book, especially if it also happens to have Johnny Depp! I have a what I have been told is a rock n roll edge to scrapbooking. Music plays a large part in my creative process, I find myself the most creative when music is really going strong! I love using metal and mist, the hard and the shiny, the soft and sparkly. I love texture and anything I can distress somehow! I have been scrapping now for about 7 years and love it, it is the way I express myself and my views. I tend to scrap not your normal subject matter and I get a kick out of scrapping whatever I feel like!
:D

Thanks for stopping in, and have a great day!
